It's really complicated when you're starting a startup to define the perfect persona that's suited to your product or solution. In 2014, I had to shut down my first startup. The mistake we made was to have addressed too many people, with too many divergent messages on too many personas at the same time. With this experience, I'm going to explain you how to correctly define your personas! With Marketing Automation Ninja, we have several personas, we have info-preneurs, influencers and startups. If you're not quite sure of your persona(s) yet, the first thing to do (after interviewing several people) is to produce content, and as you go along you will refine your communication! Then, you have to focus on the common problem(s) that your personas have, you must not exclude any category from the start! By producing your videos you will attract different types of profiles, you will refine your niche and you will be able to determine which ones are the most interesting and therefore who will be ready to pay for your service... Don't stay with several personas which will be counterproductive and not sufficiently adapted especially at the beginning of a project! Establish your business model with one persona, and once your business model is profitable and allows you to be profitable, you can open up to other types of profiles! Another method could be to create a type of content for each profile and address it specifically, with an explicit title for example. The best method is to first reduce the possibilities until you get a single persona, then you dig your niche, and once you are well established you re-diversify on the other personas previously imagined by moving forward as quickly as possible on your project!
